They say that in space nobody can hear you scream, but in a crowded movie theater, everybody can most certainly hear you drop your popcorn in pure terror.
Alien: Covenant is currently slated for an October 6, 2017 release date and I have few reasons why you should get excited for this film.
They will go in depth on the Xenomorphs’s origins:
Based on an interview Ridley Scott had with The Wrap two months ago, it’s clear that Alien: Covenant will seemingly be the bridge between Prometheus and the 1979 Alien continuity. While the highly successful prequel Prometheus set the table for the mysterious race of Engineers, who created the Xenomorphs as some sort of bio-weapon; this next film will explore their motivations, methods, and general mentality further.
Danny McBride and other Casting:
Following a hilarious run as Kenny Powers on HBO’s “Eastbound & Down,” Danny McBride is preparing to move from comedy to sci-fi, as he’s in early discussions to co-star in the new Ridley Scott film. This is new and exciting news considering he is very well known for his out buoyant comedies; he can bring something new and funny to the table where you’re surrounded by nothing but terror in this next film. He will be welcomed by Michael Fassbender who will be reprising his role from “Prometheus,” and they will be joined by Katherine Waterston as the series’ new female lead.
Face huggers, chest busters and the whole nine are coming back:
Scott in the interview with The Wrap has admitted that he will be bringing back versions of the stages of the monsters that premiered in the 1979 sci-fi horror classic. He was quoted on, saying, “There was always this discussion: Is Alien, the character, the beast, played out or not? We’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.”
By “the big boy” he quite obviously means the series’ iconic Xenomorphs. This sounds like a very promising film and it’s something that I am definitely looking forward to.
