Kit Harington’s New Adventures in Film & Theater

Kit Harington AKA Jon Snow is back at work!

As if it wasn’t enough for us to be hanging in the balance on whether or not Jon Snow (played by the talented Kit Harington) *spoiler alert* is alive or dead in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones; we now have to wait until season 6 — which premieres April 24. That is a pretty long wait, but if you want to get your Jon Snow fix on (or for me, Kit Harington fix) then you’ll be happy to hear that he’s going to be keeping himself quite busy with some new adventures — those not involving swords and wearing all black in the bitter cold.

Kit Harington will star in DOCTOR FAUSTUS at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London this spring, directed by Jamie Lloyd. Kit has been waiting to return to the London stage after doing his first ever professional stage work playing Albert Narracott in “War Horse” and in 2010 he played Ed Montgomery in “Posh”, before that, he studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in Swiss Cottage and did small school theater plays.  Doctor Faustus is about a physician who makes a pact, in blood, with the devil. Lucifer gets the Doctor’s soul. But for 24 years, Faustus gets infinite knowledge and the chance to indulge in any and every fantasy he desires. He becomes well acquainted with the Seven Deadly Sins in the process. The Production runs from April 9th to June 4th 2016 and rehearsals for Doctor Faustus begin in March.

Kit will also be starring in Xavier Dolan’s English-language debut The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan. Kit will also co-star with Jessica Chastain, Taylor Kitsch, Kathy Bates, and Susan Sarandon. Natalie Portman, Nicholas Hoult, and Thandie Newton have just finished being announced to join the anticipated drama, which takes place in the early 2000’s and centers on the tribulations of an American TV star in his late twenties (Harington) and his correspondence with a young actor-to-be living with his mother in England. Their lives take dramatic turns when the existence of their pen pal relationship is publicly exposed, eliciting the most ill-founded assumptions, and sending Donovan in a vertical downfall. A decade later, the young actor recollects his relationship with his past idol over the course of an interview. There are also talks that British singing superstar Adele might make a cameo appearance in the new film. Both Adele and Dolan have worked together before on the music video to Adele’s hit single “Hello”. Production is set to begin in the spring and last for six months.

It’s exciting to know that Kit will be going back into doing some theater work after he has expressed before that he was actively looking for a shot back into doing a play. It will be very cool to see him play back in a more contemporary drama in “John F Donovan” and we get to see what his American accent might sound like.

Here’s to KIT and his new adventures in hell and in Hollywood!

Are you excited to see Kit in a new role?
